Information is a key component of PIRRIDM. The following is a formal definition of Information for our purposes (from Dictionary.com):

  • knowledge communicated or received concerning a particular fact or circumstance; newsinformation concerning a crime.
  • knowledge gained through study, communication, research, instruction, etc.; factual data: His wealth of general information is amazing.

 There are three primary types of information that are used in PIRRIDM: PeopleData, and Systems.

  • People identifies information about persons who produce or consume Data.
  • Data identifies the information that is produced or consumed by People or by Systems.
  • Systems identifies information about systems that provide or consume Data.
